For a chance to win three hobby packs of Topps Lineage (assuming they have it at the card store today): Tell me how often you buy cards online compared to your LCS and where you buy them!

  1. I buy all my packs and boxes at my LCS for the most part. I use the online retailers for my group breaks. I use thenet to buy singles mostly.

  2. I buy online pretty often, and pretty much strictly singles on eBay. It all depends on what's up for auction. Some weeks I'm buying 5 or 6 cards, and some weeks nada. I make a trip to my LCS about once every other week to dredge through the cheapo boxes and buy a pack or two.

  3. I've yet to get anything from an online retailer directly. I've bought some singles from eBay, and tend to get packs from the LCS whenever I'm in need of supplies as well, otherwise it's mostly retail.

  4. I purchased my first hobby box online about a month ago. I use my LCS mainly for supplies, singles, but his prices have come down on boxes recently so I may go there in the future.

  5. I've purchased most of my boxes online from D&A, though my first ever box came from my LCS.

I don't buy boxes often, however.

  6. I buy 99% of cards online. I've had a horrible experience with my LCS, so I stick to eBay and SportLots when I'm not trading.

  7. Have purchased three boxes of cards online this week from Baseball Card Exchange, bringing my total online purchases to ... three boxes! Have only bought singles at my LCS. I buy most of my packs from Target or Wally World when my wife and I do our weekly shopping, and occasionally at the Dollar Tree.

  8. I got my Ginter from Blowout in 2010 and from the Community Gum guys this year. Other than that, I've never bought online and I rarely buy new stuff from my LCS because his prices are crazy. I buy mostly retail.

  9. I don't really have a LCS. I buy quite often on ebay and have had good success on COMC as well. In the past I got caught up in bidding wars on ebay. Now I'm careful to keep to a strict limit and let things go. On COMC I almost always make offers and if they're rejected I just pass.

  10. I don't have an LCS near me, so I buy boxes from shows (very rarely), D&A and Blowout. I'm glad to see D&A has Razor Letterman but I wish they were still $30/box like they used to be. I should have bought a bunch of cases of those then!

  11. When I have the money for boxes I always buy at my LCS. But lately, I've only had enough extra cash for a few singles here and there off ebay.

  12. I always buy online. Mainly because the closest card shop to me is an hour away.

  13. No LCS, the only time I buy packs is at shows.

  14. I have been to a local card shop in 5 years (I'm not even sure where one is) I do frequent ebay a lot. I also go the checkoutmycards or sportslot route for set filling. I've bought boxes from D&A, Blowout, Atlanta, and bbcexchange. I also go to Target and get the stuff I can't find online (i.e. Gypsy Queen packs)

  15. I don't really buy packs online or at my LCS. I pick them up at Target or not at all. I'd like to shop at the LCS but hobby packs are so expensive compared to retail for what I'm likely to get. If I was buying boxes of new stuff I'd probably pick them up locally - either at the card shop or a show. When I was buying packs and boxes regularly they were from my LCS. I bought a few things online from D&A and Blowout over Thanksgiving weekend, but I don't think it'll be a regular thing.

  16. I no longer live near an LCS and the nearest Wallyworld and/or Target are a 40 minute drive away, so all of my card purchases are made online.

  17. I've never bought anything related to my collection online (but I plan to very soon) and I've only been to my LCS once. I rely solely on trades and retail packs to add cards to my collection.

  18. I used to buy everything online, then when i found a new store, and i liked it, all my boxes have been bought there. Even though he is a lot more than buying online. Hey, it has cut down on my spending a bit.
As for singles, I buy those at shows and online. Usually feebay or Sportslots. Rarely I'll buy from Check Out My Cards because their S+H is so damn high.

  19. I go to my LCS to pick through their assorted boxes and grab some cards for my player collections. I've made a few purchases on eBay, mostly player lots and some singles. I've only made one purchase from COMC.

  20. My first LCS doesn't sell packs or boxes and the other's prices are pretty high compared to the prices I get online. Most of my business goes to Dave and Adams, Blowout Cards or Baseball Card Exchange.

  21. My LCS mostly stocks football packs with a LITTLE bit of baseball, so being a hockey collector, I have to get mine exclusively on-line. Even baseball is so much more expensive there than it is on ebay. Mostly I just get supplies from my LCS. I haven't tried any of the on-line retailers, though, so I can't really speak on them.
